The wait is over. The new season of the award-winning web series Starting From Now debuts on March 1st, Australian time. Starting From Now, an Australian drama, deals with how complicated life can get when lines of love and friendship get blurred and broken.

The series began by following Steph (Sarah de Possesse) as she moves to a new town to start a job. To help her get her life in order, Steph’s decided to stay at her friend Kristen’s (Lauren Orell) place. Things were going great until Steph realizes that the random chemistry-filled interaction she had with a beautiful woman happens to be Kristen’s partner Darcy (Rosie Lourde).  As the story evolves between these women, and Steph’s co-worker Emily (Bianca Bradey), so does the trouble life can bring with it.

Season 3 ended with Kristen coming out of the ashes, and Steph taking her place. We saw all of the girls deal with the decisions they made and how they not only affected themselves but the people around them. It’s not easy dealing with change, and some dealt with it better than others.

The sense of hope and devastation lingered after the finale, and one can only guess where Season 4 will take us.

Season 4 proves just as complicated and heartfelt as the previous seasons. The attention to character and emotion is deep within each episode, and you never feel cheated from the balanced storylines from each of the four girls. While their lives may intertwine, they are always singular characters, allowing for the development of strong woman.

It’s never easy confronting those that hurt us, and moving forward from devastating personal blows, but the ladies of Starting From Now prove that it can be done with grace. The relatability presented on screen is appreciated, still allowing for the audience to find comfort and guidance in these characters. The situations may not be able to mirror the audiences, but there is still a connectivity that allows for healing.

By this season the audience is fully engrossed in these characters, emotionally attached to their well-being. The actresses have all put their hearts and soul into this series, and it shows. With each season the stakes rise, causing the emotions to rise with it. The talented ladies handle all of the powerful situations with ease and strength.

Julie Kalceff continues to do amazing things with Season 4. Her direction of not only the emotional center of the story, but the expression from the actresses is beautiful. It’s no wonder that this series is an international hit. She is able to confront normally dramatic and painful situations with love and attention, never presenting them in a confusing way.

I am choosing to keep the storylines and intimate details of Season 4 silent. I don’t want to take anything away from the viewers. This show is important in so many ways, it needs to be seen with clear eyes. The first three seasons can be found on the show’s official website, and I highly recommend you watch the series if you haven’t already. It won’t take long for you to fall in love with the show, just in time for Season 4.
